StrongStart is a free drop-in early learning program for children aged 0 to 5 years (prior to entry into kindergarten), who are accompanied by their parents or caregivers. It is the beginning of a special partnership between families and schools. The program is intended to fill a niche for children who are not attending childcare and who are in the home with their parent or other caregivers (such as grandparents or nannies). Younger siblings are able to attend but the program emphasis will be developmentally appropriate for three to four year olds. Each program is facilitated by a Licensed Early Childhood Educator.
The Centre is open on a first come, first served basis on days that school is in session. The Centre hours are 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The StrongStart Centre at Raymer is located in the Modular classroom behind the school and can be accessed from Richter Street.
